9.10 to 10.00 Intermediate Jive
Join Reading's most experienced teachers of authentic Jive to enjoy the informal, relaxed, welcoming atmosphere while progressively improving your dance fun level.
Regular start dates are available to beginners.
Regular start dates are offered for new beginners at Park United Reformed Church (URC), at the corner of Palmer Park.
The entrance and car park are on Palmer Park Avenue (one-way), right beside Wokingham Road.
Access is controlled and so you need to register for the class in order to gain access.
The car park is opposite the side entrance to this impressive, historic complex. We use two adjacent halls with wood floors. Parked cars must be registered at the parking kiosk in the Lobby: we will remind you when you join us.

This great venue is conveniently located where Newtown, Earley and Woodley meet, and beside the super-frequent 17 bus route.
By car, navigate to RG6 1DN, Palmer Park Ave and drive to just before the junction with Wokingham Rd. The car park is on the right and the entrance is on the left. (Street parking is permit only. Palmer Park Leisure also offers parking facilities, if you prefer.)

ABOUT JIVE
Jive comes in may forms and we teach the authentic flavour, rooted in swing dancing. The style evolved to be very popular and was sometimes described as Rock ‘n’ Roll. We start you with 6-beat single-time basics before adding heaps of fun variations to keep your dancing fresh.
Most of the music in this class is from the 1950s or in the style of that era.
Our Jive classes are also a great route into the other dance styles that we teach.
Raise your social dancing for more fun.
Partner dances generally have a "Leader" and a "Follower". We seek a reasonable balance in each class. Some class members learn both roles.
Apply with or without a partner.
COUPLES can choose if they want to remain together in the class or spend some time practicing with the other dancers.

We offer start dates across the year and invite you to book a four-week block for just £22 to get you started.

If you are cannot commit to the introductory four-week block then use the application form on this page and we shall seek to fit you in for Pay-As-You-Go.
Private tuition is another option.
If you are an experienced dancer and want to go beyond Essential Jive then use the application form and we can advise when and how to join us.

PAY-AS-YOU-GO allows flexible attendance for these prices:
£8 per week Essential Jive (8.00 to 9.10 pm).
£10 per week 8.00 to 10.00 pm for those wanting to go further.
We accept cash and contactless / card payments for pay-as-you-go.
Pre-payment for your convenience may be available for regular attendees.
