Join us at this lovely airy venue with a great dance floor.

We are Reading's most experienced Lindy Hop teaching couple and our style is informal and relaxed - like the dance - aiming to enjoy a few laughs together in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere while progressively improving your dance fun level.

These classes are available for able dancers to get some focussed development time.

They are followed by extended social practice sessions which are available with the class or separately.

About the class

Each class has a theme that we focus on - see the schedule.

They are designed to build on what you have already learned and so are not suitable for new beginners.

We welcome couples and singles. We want the class to be satisfying and so we use the application process to keep a balance between leaders and followers, regardless or gender.

Each class builds a short sequence of swing dance figures through clear demonstration and explanation. Limiting the class size means that we have some time for your individual needs.

Lots of relaxed practice time after the class provides superb opportunity for consolidating what you learn while a teacher is still on hand for your questions.

Choices

When you apply we ask you to let us know if you are a couple (i.e. two people who want to be lead and follow) or single applicant focussed on either role so that the class is balanced. Mixing with other dancers is optional for couples.

Hand sanitiser is provided, face coverings are entirely optional. Obviously you will not come if you are symptomatic and/or should be isolating.

If circumstances change we shall review this policy.

Please Consider What You Wear, etc.

The most important thing to wear is a smile - it will make your fellow dancers happy too.

You should know by now that you need comfortable shoes that allow you to turn easily on the ball of your foot: they should be secure and flexible, preferably with a smooth sole.

Clothing layers are a good idea so that you can adjust to suit the weather and the energy that you are burning. If you are exerting yourself during warm weather then a small sports towel can help you to stay fresh.

Most dancer dress smart-casual. If you like to dress in vintage style that will be great so long as it won't stop you from getting the most out of the class.

IF YOU ARE STAYING FOR THE SOCIAL DANCE it is especially important that you come prepared. You might want a change of clothes and maybe come equipped to refresh your hygiene.
