A Touch of Swing
Many of our Level 2 students want to add some swing dance variations to their skills and so for 2020 we have added this session. Level 2 students can join this sessions to introduce triple-time and double-time variations and a few tasters of other swing dance styles, all related to the core Jive class. This introduces more rhythms, tempos and footwork to keep expanding your repertoire and the range of music that you can dance to.
This is covered by the standard price of £8 per week: it is not offered as a stand-alone class.

We recognise that each student will progress at their own speed and are ready to patiently coach and encourage you with an emphasis on enjoying the journey that you are on. Dancers who intend to stretch themselves will be supported upon request. We also offer many great social dance events for you: it's a great way to expand your social circle and to get that valuable practice time.
We ask every student to be aware of their limitations and fitness level and to dance within their physical limitations. We want you to cross the fun threshold not the pain threshold. Most of our students don't want to work physically hard. If exercise is one of your major motivations then we can give you tips on how to put extra energy into your dancing and how to ease back when you want to.
Nobody begins dancing as a skilled dancer. Our public classes prepare you for having fun by getting you social dance ready rather than competition ready. You should expect to improve your balance and spacial awareness as well of your general fitness and that is one of the reasons why people get hooked on the benefits of social swing dancing. And if you find that your friends and family are impressed by your new skills then that is a bonus.
