Learn to Swing Dance with Reading's most experienced and accomplished Lindy Hop couple, Debra and John.
There are no exams and we recognise that each student will progress at their own rate. We are there to patiently coach and encourage you with the focus being on enjoying the journey. Those who want to push themselves will also be supported. We also offer social dance events for you to gain extra practice with fellow students, to mingle to to ask for hints and tips. It's a great way to expand your social circle.
If exercise is one of you major motivations then we can give you advice on how to put extra energy into your dancing. We ask every student to be aware of their limitations and fitness level and to dance within their physical limitations. We want you to cross the fun threshold not the pain threshold.
Nobody starts out as a skilled dancer and we focus on the fun factor as Swing Dancing is joyous. Our public classes aim is to get you dancing at a social level, not at a competition level. You can expect to improve your balance and spacial awareness as well of your general fitness and that is one of the reasons why people get hooked on the benefits of social swing dancing. If you find that your friends and family are impressed by your new skills then that is a bonus.
